In another exciting development, a special Public Program has been
scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19 in the McGowan Theater
(following the NARA Preservation Conference). The program will be
titled Film Preservation in the Digital Age, and is sponsored by the
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. AMPAS will be sending
Josef Lindner, Preservation Officer at the Academy Film Archive,
whose presentation is based on their "Film-to-Film" project
(, and
other efforts of the Academy's Science and Technology Council.
