The
Book and Paper Group Annual is a non-juried anthology of papers pertaining
to the conservation and preservation of works of art on paper, books and library
and archival materials. It provides members with a venue for sharing technical
information in a timely fashion. Many, but not all, papers in the Annual
represent talks given at the BPG sessions of the AIC meeting. Many BPGA
articles appear eventually (sometimes in revised form) in the Journal
of the American Institute for Conservation (JAIC), a peer-reviewed journal.
In addition to presenting a technical program at the annual AIC meeting, and producing the Book and Paper Group Annual, the BPG produces the Paper Conservation Catalog. Published in fascicles, the PCC presents a systematic overview, in outline form, of the body of knowledge with which a paper conservator is expected to to be familiar. Other publications are planned.
Copies of volumes 1-15 (except volume 4, which is out-of-print) are available for $10 to AIC members/$15 to non-members, plus postage & handling. Copies of volumes 17, 19, and 20 are available for $15 to AIC members/$20 to non-members, plus postage & handling. Volumes 16 and 18 are out-of-print. See the AIC publications page for an Order form.
