Professional Development Stipend
The Photographic Materials Group of the American Institute for Conservation offers small grants to encourage scholarship, research, exchange, and publication within the field and related communities. Projects demonstrating immediate dissemination through publication, workshops, and/or public lectures will be given priority. Proposed projects may include a research project or segment thereof, preparation of a manuscript for publication, or organization and implementation of a workshop. Proposals for other projects will be considered if appropriate to the general funding goals.

AIC/PMG Funding Guidelines

Applications for grants should be submitted to the PMG Chair on or before October 15th of each year.

The Andrew W. Mellon series of Collaborative Workshops in Photograph Conservation was initiated in 1997. Nineteen workshops during a 12-year period provided continuing professional development for approximately 147 conservators and other conservation professionals representing 29 countries internationally. In 2008 The Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation received $1 million grant to sustain this workshop series for at least ten years starting in 2010. Workshops in this series will be posted here.
