A semi-circular or triangular cut in the sides of a slipcase designed to facilitate removal of the enclosed book. The semi-circular cut is used in the best work, while the triangular cut, which is used principally by library and edition binders in the United States, is much more economical, especially since it is usually made after the case has been covered.
