uncut ( uncut edges )
The edges of a newly printed book which have not
been cut or trimmed, thus leaving the "bolts,"
which must be cut before the book can be read.
Until this is done the book is said to be
"unopened." In rebinding a book, the term
signifies that the edges are left in the original
uncut state, with or without bolts as received.
