yield

The amount of a substance, usually expressed as a percentage of the starting material, which remains after manufacturing or processing action or actions. In papermaking, yield is the pulp obtained from pulpwood, the amount of paper produced from the pulp, etc. In leather manufacture, it is defined as the number of pounds or square feet of finished leather obtained from 100 pounds purchased weight of raw stock.
