TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

From Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport
to the Best Western Executive Park Hotel

If you have room reservations at the hotel, call 252-2100 and request their complimentary van service. If you are driving yourself, follow signs to the westbound I-10 and exit at 7th Avenue (map)

To the Heard Museum

The Heard Museum (22 E. Monte Vista Rd.) is located just E of Central Ave. You will not need to enter through the main museum gate to get to our meeting area (The Helen C. Lincoln Auditorium) - simply walk along the E side of the building until you come to a small enclosed courtyard. Due to a major expansion now underway, the Heard's usual parking area will not be open. Paid parking is available across Monte Vista Rd., S of the Museum.

To the Phoenix Art Museum

The Phoenix Art Museum (corner of Central Ave. & McDowell Rd.) can be entered from Central Ave. (especially for those on foot) or through an interior courtyard reached by crossing Coronado Road after you park, and entering through a covered walkway that opens on the N side of the building. The Auditorium is at the south end of the building. Free parking for the Phoenix Art Museum is available in a lot north of the Museum.

To the Deer Valley Rock Art Center

The Deer Valley Rock Art Center is a 25-minute drive NW of central Phoenix. Get on Interstate 17 headed N (to reach I-17, follow signs on westbound Interstate 10, or drive west on Thomas, Indian School, or Camelback until signs direct you to the freeway). Stay on I-17 until the "Deer Valley Road" exit. Take this exit and travel westbound on Deer Valley Road about 1.5 miles. You will soon see signs for the Deer Valley Rock Art Center.

To Taliesin West

Taliesin West is a 45- to 60-minute drive NE of central Phoenix, located at the eastern end of Cactus Rd., at approximately 114th St. Go north on "The 51" (Squaw Peak Parkway), which can be reached by traveling east on McDowell, Thomas, or Indian School until you see signs. Take "The 51" to the end(Shea Blvd.(and bear R to head east. Shea is an east-west street one mile south of Cactus. Go north on any numbered street to get to Cactus, turn eastward, and stay on Cactus until you get there.
