Josef Albers' masterwork, describing the characteristics of color and the conditions under which certain optical phenomena occur, is now available in an interactive CD-ROM edition, containing the complete text, commentary, and 150 color plates of the original 1963 edition. Features include:

• users can change the form, size, location, and color of the shapes in the studies, by means of special tools and a color palette.
• with the controller, users can move among Albers' text, notes, commentary, and color studies; a "path" button allows users to return instantly to any chapter or study.
• the new commentary addresses issues such as the differences between color paper and computer-generated color and makes suggestions for manipulating studies on the computer screen.

Runs on a Macintosh with at least 2 MB available RAM; system software version 7.0 or later; a CD-ROM drive; and a color monitor.
