• VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Conservation Clinic, Sat. May 15

  WCG is partnering with the Historical Society of Washington DC to present the 1st annual conservation clinic at the Society's museum in downtown DC. We need to provide at least 4 conservators, possibly more, from the book/paper/photo specialty. Members of the public will be able to consult with a conservator for 10 minutes concerning their personal or family memorabilia. In addition, there will be presentations on topics such as appraisals and the history of photographic conservation. See Volunteer Opportunities for details.

• WCG's 2009 Angels Project

  The 2009 WCG Angels Project was held at the Charles Sumner School Museum and Archives in Washington, DC, on Saturday, November 7th. New photos are in the flickr photostream

The Washington Conservation Guild (WCG) is a nonprofit organization of conservation professionals dedicated to preserving art and historic materials. Founded in 1967, WCG serves as a regional forum for its members and as a resource to the public for learning about the care of personal collections.
